Now that I have the latest program, how do I get Content Updates?
Once you have installed the current version of i-COOK Pro, you will now be able to download Content Updates from the update server. First, you will need to update your copy of i-COOK Pro with the most recent program files.
In order to do that, start the i-COOK Pro application normally, then open the Help menu and click on Check for Software Updates. i-COOK Pro will then check for application updates and it will notify you when the updates are ready to install. On the bottom-right of your computer screen you will see a small notification window stating the updates are ready to install.
Save and close any Recipes or other items you may be working on. Close the i-COOK Pro application. Again you will see the notification window when the updates have been applied. Your application is now ready to receive Content Updates.
Downloading Content Updates
Each time you start i-COOK Pro it will check with the update server to see if any new Content Updates are available. When there are updates available, the application will automatically prompt you to download the Content Updates. Click Yes to open the wizard and download the Content Updates.
Oops, I clicked No. What do I do?
If you accidentally click No, simply open the Help menu and click on Download Content Updates. The wizard will start immediately.
Using the Content Update Wizard
The Content Update Wizard allows you to select which content updates you want to install based on which are available for download. This allows you to incrementally install updates if you do not have enough time to install them all at once.
When the Wizard opens, click Next to start the procedure. The Wizard will connect to the update server, download a list of updates, and present you with a menu where you can choose which updates to install. To select an update to install, click the Check Box next to the name of the update. Once you have selected all the updates you want, click Next and the Wizard will download and install the updates.
How long will this take?
Content Updates are large. They contain all the necessary information to completely rebuild a Recipe from scratch, including the photo, if any. As a result, downloading content updates may take some time. Here are some general figures for timing this procedure
Downloading
Approx. 5 minutes on a broadband connection.
Approx. 90 minutes on a dial-up connection.
Installing
Approx. 3 minutes on a fast PC (1.5 GHz processor or higher).
Approx. 9 minutes on an older PC (sub-1.0 GHz processor).
Thank you for using i-COOK Pro and we hope you continue to enjoy our product!
