i-COOK ProChef is a Microsoft Windows based PC application. We currently do not offer a Mac version. However, if you currently own a Mac and want to use i-COOK ProChef, there are several options that exist. The first option is to run emulation software on your Mac. Emulation software allows you to run other operating systems on your Mac, so in this case you would need to load Windows as the operating system. We recommend running either Windows XP or Vista. Below you will find three different emulation software packages that we’ve tested and recommend for running i-COOK ProChef on a Mac. Virtual PC – for use only on PowerPC-based Macs Virtual PC works by emulating a Pentium-based Windows machine, right on your Mac. When you launch Virtual PC, the Windows OS appears inside a window on your Mac desktop. You can switch back and forth between your Mac OS and Windows as easily as you go between any two windows on your Mac desktop. Using Virtual PC, you can copy and paste text and graphics between Mac and Windows, and drag files and folders from one OS to the other. This is a boon for anyone who needs to test the integrity of cross-platform projects, such as HTML documents, graphics files, and so on. Note: Virtual PC does NOT run on Intel-based Macs Click here to learn more and to purchase Virtual PC. Guest PC http://www.lismoresystems.com/en/ Guest PC is another computer inside your Mac. That computer is an emulated x86 PC. It is virtual; it has no separate monitor, mouse, keyboard or hard drive. It is just a Mac OS X program that allows you to install the Microsoft Windows operating system on your Mac and use the software developed only for Windows compatible computers. Guest PC works just like a usual application and you can easily switch between Windows and Mac OS X desktops at will. Parallels http://www.parallels.com/ Parallels Desktop for Mac is the leading virtualization solution for the Mac, enabling Apple users to run Windows in conjunction with Mac OS X without rebooting. The latest release of Parallels delivers USB 2.0 support, easy to use migration tools, and innovative Coherence technology. With Parallels Desktop for Mac, you can: * Run your favorite Mac and Windows applications at the same time without rebooting * Seamlessly connect to any network in both Mac OS and Windows using a shared network connection * Achieve a high level of performance for Windows on your Mac by leveraging Intel technology - an industry leading solution available on Parallels Software * Copy and paste items between your Mac desktop and your Windows desktop * Quickly create multiple virtual machines by using the new Parallels Installation Assistant * Create “Active” backups by using Parallels Desktop for Mac in conjunction with Parallels Compressor * Achieve optimal virtual machine performance and reduce disk space by 50% or more with the new Parallels Compressor Alternative for Intel-based Macs If you have an Intel-based Mac, you can also use Boot Camp. Boot Camp lets you install and run Windows on your Mac. Right now a public beta is available from Apple but the fully tested application won’t be available until Apple releases Mac OS X Leopard. Boot Camp lets you install Windows without moving your Mac data, though you will need to bring your own copy to the table, as Apple does not sell or support Microsoft Windows. Boot Camp will burn a CD with all the required drivers for Windows so you don't have to scrounge around the Internet looking for them. Once you’ve completed Boot Camp, simply hold down the option key (that’s the “alt” key for you longtime Windows users) at startup to choose between Mac OS X and Windows. After starting up, your Mac runs Windows natively just like a PC. Simply restart to come back to Mac. What you’ll need
